When we place life at the center, all life thrives.

This is the belief at the heart of Ma Earth, and it is why we are uplifting the communities doing the quiet, steady, essential work of caring for the Earth. Today, we are celebrating the launch of Ma Earth Funding Round 3, and we are inviting you to be part of it.

The work of regeneration by grassroots communities is happening right now, in the hands of farmers, seed keepers, forest guardians, and community organizers across the globe, restoring what has been lost, tending what remains, and growing what is needed for generations to come. And yet, consistently, this work remains underfunded. The communities most rooted in place, most knowledgeable about their ecosystems, and most committed to the long arc of regeneration are rarely the ones with access to the resources needed.

How Funding Round 3 works

From July 1–21, communities crowdfund directly for their grassroots nature projects. Every unique donor counts. The more people come together to give, the more matching funds are unlocked for each project. Your contribution multiplies. Activate the power of the collective by sharing with a friend, encouraging your community to give, and telling someone about a project that moves you.

A world of projects, rooted in place

Round 3 brings together an extraordinary breadth of work from across the globe. Mangrove restoration along the coasts of Mexico. Indigenous women's seed keeping in Colombia, preserving the biological and cultural heritage of generations. Agroecology collectives in Brazil weaving food sovereignty into the fabric of rural life. Community gardens cultivating resilience in Aotearoa. Survivors healing through land stewardship in Congo. These are just a few of the communities choosing regeneration, caring for the Earth, and placing life at the center.

Growing together

We are already off to a strong start. Thanks to the generous support of Biome Trust, Imaginal Seeds, and Naia Trust, our matching pool has grown. Round 3 will distribute $1,000,000 in matching funds across ~200 grassroots projects worldwide, making this our most far-reaching round yet.

How you can help

During the Funding Round, July 1–21, we invite you to support community-led regeneration by browsing the projects at maearth.com/projects and finding ones that move you. Give what you can, and share with friends. Small acts of care, multiplied across communities, have the power to shift the whole.
